Established in 1965, the Tibet House is a building located in the heart of the city on the popular Lodhi Road. The five-story building houses a museum, several Buddhist artefacts and valuable pieces of art and a library that stores over 5000 manuscripts.
The building offers several programmes that revolve around Tibet studies. Many people from across the world visit the building, wanting to study, and practice the principles of Tibetan culture. There are also several events held here, which are based on Buddhism and its practices.
The museum in the building has several artefacts and photographs that depict the history of Tibet and their struggle for freedom from the Chinese. It also displays the history of the Dalai Lama and his teachings through the many years.
The building is open to visitors from Monday to Friday and is closed on the weekends and public holidays.
